Codependent melds psychology and design, specifically focusing upon the physical manifestation of a psychological condition, codependency. These two intertwined tables must rely upon each other to function. The two forms are incapable of standing alone, but together create one functional form. The final table is a powerful example of which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Using the Lingam as form inspiration & the Bodhi-tree and Japanese gardens as a basis on the concept's modules, Dhyan (sanskrit for meditate) transforms the eastern philosophies into varied configurations, allowing the user to choose his/her path to zen/relaxation. The water-pond mode surrounds the user with a waterfall & pond, while the garden mode surrounds the user with greenery. The standard mode contains storage areas under a platform that acts as a shelf.

The free-standing unit is anchored in the ground and made entirely of stainless steel, which is durable and easy to clean. A photovoltaic panel powers all functions, and the energy is stored in an internal battery, so no mains connection is needed. Liquid is released when a sensor detects a hand. A mobile application allows municipal services to check the liquid level and the filling of the waste bin. The dispenser measures 1150 by 360 by 360 millimeters.
Continue reading1x1 is a modular urban furniture system for public spaces. Each element works alone as a bench, table, planter or lamppost, or in groups that form small outdoor areas. All parts share the same standardized frame, the same materials and the same fixing methods. Timber, precast concrete and stainless steel are used. Components are produced off site and then assembled on site, which reduces shipment size. The system can be expanded or reduced by adding or removing elements, so both permanent and temporary use is possible.
Continue readingRadial is a litter bin designed for public streets and city spaces. The bin is made of powder-coated steel and aluminium and measures 770 by 400 by 1150 millimetres. A 25 watt photovoltaic panel on the bin charges an internal battery. The stored energy powers an air quality sensor, a fill level sensor and the lighting, which switches on at dusk. Data from the sensors is sent to city services, so emptying can be planned and residents can read air quality values. All added parts are removable for service and recycling.

The shape of the seat and its support makes the bench resemble the tail of a whale without compromising its ergonomics and stability. A thin layer of fibreglass covers its inner core of wood or concrete enriched with recycled plastic. It can be placed alone or in small groups.
