This piece of urban furniture is a versatile element for both indoors and outdoors. The shape of the seat and its support makes the bench resemble the tail of a whale without compromising its ergonomics and stability. A thin layer of fibreglass covers its inner core of wood or concrete enriched with recycled plastic. It can be placed alone or in small groups.
Continue readingThe TPH Cypress has a simple and minimal shape in which paper is sandwiched between two inverted V-shaped trays and taken out from above. A beautiful paper holder made using the traditional technique Japanese call Hikimage with Kiso cypress. Kiso is famous for producing cypress. A metal fitting is attached to the back side of the upper tray. As a result, the weight is increased and friction is reduced, enabling smooth removal. Kiso cypress is highly antibacterial, has a very beautiful grain, and has a refreshing scent.

In front of us we have an interesting example of a conflict between form and content, which completely changes features and perception of the object itself. Choice of using aluminium was determined by its plasticity: in designers opinion, this is the most «alive» material out there.

The design is inspired by the art of time-hourglass. The hourglass is a symbol of time. When the sun is born, it is a "coat rack"; at noon, it can be used as a "shelf"; when night falls, it can be used as a "table lamp". The changes in different functions remind people to follow the direction of time and perceive the beauty of life.
